1.The biggest ice shelf in Antarctica is the Ross ice shelf. It is 800 km long. It is so flat that there is not even a little bump on the whole ice shelf.

2.The biggest airport in Antarctica is Mcmurdo station. It is close to scott base witch is were scientists do research.

3. It takes 10 hours to get from New Zealand to Mcmurdo station and 10-12 days to get from New Zealand to Antarctica by boat.

4. Antarctica is a wild area were lots of wild animals live and there is barely any humans there.

5. People want to go to Antarctica because they want to get oil and minerals from under the ice and it will destroy most of the wild life there and lots of roads will be built and it will destroy habitats of animals.

  1. Hi Carys,Your information about Antarctica is really interesting and I have learned lots about Antarctica.
Your story is really interesting that it reminds me of when I read a book to my brother.
Maybe you could talk a little about Scott base.
